    Stopping at parallel is gay as far as I'm concerned (unless you're a powerlifter, or have an injury that prevents otherwise).

    pur hasnt gone past parallel in like 10 years.. he doesnt see a point to it, as far as i cacn remember..

    been doing it right after surgery then... awesome... i can do 4 plates for 10 for 3 sets... no abomb

    para and atg are both nice but wtf 45* :ugh:, you shoulda slapped that fool silly when he said that.... then thrown him on your back and full squatted him.

    if you are competing you go down as far as you need to (diff feds = diff requirements) and if you are a bb'er as far as I know parallel is all you need...

    i thought a firefighter would know better since they have to stay in excellent shape for the job.

    i thought that was mainly true for volunteer, not for professional. :dunno:

    A lot of them stay in pretty good shape for the first couple of years, than they let their beer guys come out.

    I ran a 5k about three months ago and some of local firefighters were running it in full gear plus tanks. It must have been 95 degrees outside and these guys were easily in their late 30's or early 40's. BTW they finished the race before I did and I was running/sprinting the entire way.

    They didn't need to.

    They were running backwards and pumping people people up, I couldn't believe it.

    The one thing I remember is one of them looked like an older version of Mike Rowe.

    yea, well, i just figured even if he isnt in shape, he SHOULD know what he's talking about.

    whenever i get in, i'll do my best to stay in fighting shape. :big grin:
