He waited about two months for all the parts, then another 2 weeks for the build, but the gunsmith sent it out with no problems. The trigger is only 2lbs 8oz, so that will have to be adjusted, since the second stage is more a button than anything. But it will work fine until then.

he has a nikon scope, the scope rings were just down in the safe when we got back to his place this morning, didn't have time to grab them.

what do you mean theres a lot of work still left? the only thing not on is scope rings, mag, and maybe a front strap holder.

How much did he pay the gunsmith to put it together?? Did he consider building it himself?? I'm building an similar AR soon and am going to use the tutorials from ARFCOM

There's really nothing wrong with the trigger weight, we are just used to firing something very different, its about 2lb 14oz now and easier to feel out. The Jewel is very simple to adjust, so once a few rounds get put through it, we will see what happens. The 1st stage just makes the tiny amount of movement on the second stage seem even smaller. So he made the first stage a tiny bit heavier too.

The scope is on now, I just havn't had a chance to take any more pictures.

I wasn't sure what to think about the stock until I saw the completed rifle. It actually looks real nice in real life, our buddy has an adjustable length composite stock, but for an AR built for accuracy, and without buying a $400 completely adjustable stock, this is pretty nice. He isn't a very big guy, maybe 5'11" 180lbs. I am slightly larger at 6'1" 190lbs, and it first very well. The adjustable one on our friend's AR is too short. (see pictures) We are going to the range sunday to blast away a few hundred rounds to break it in.

It was $225 for the gunsmith to put it together, but only because he had to machine the barrel down .003" to get the speed block to fit on. Not sure why it didn't, the barrel's must be made to fit something else. But it fit with no problem after that, and he put 6 or 8 rounds through it no problems. If he didn't have to machine it, then it would have been closer to $125 or so.

If that will be your first AR, then don't build it yourself. Once you start pulling it apart to clean it, you will understand it more, and there are plenty of things that can be barely wrong, and make the rifle not fire/extract/load correctly. Just my opinion though.

here is part of the collection. plenty has been added since then.

yah, I think those stocks look like shit on a regular AR, but on a target rifle, they look very damned good.

    weaver mount = scope riser?

the nikon scope even with taller rings is not at eye level, so he got the riser with normal rings
