What happened: Swerved to avoid a F150 that left its lane and caused a pileup, had the fucking "stability control" on and it forced understeer, hit a high curb rim first and went a long ways while completely destroying the supsension.

Have some nasty airbag burns on my arm :hs:

Fuck that Dynamic Understeer system

that was a nice zhp, i have one in silvery gray. Understeer is what you want 99% of the time when you loose control. You have meaty 255s on the back and 225s up front. You are much better off hitting something head on then uncontrollably oversteering. Unless you are Michael schumacher.

Is the car considered done for? Don't know if the frame got bent or what. What are your plans if so.

    It is a performance/style package for E46 330s.

    Sorry about your car, man.

    When will it be fixed?

I happen to disagree with that statement and I own the same exact car. The DSC is wonderful. Most people think they are awesome drivers, the truth is that they are not. DSC is priceless esp in bad weather.

Totally agree. DSC saved my ass many many times in the winter and rain. I usually take a performance driving school again once I get a new car, just so I know the car better. Not saying that it was your fault or anything.

Anyway, insurance going to cover it...hopefully? Otherwise better have your pants down and have already assumed the position!

Note that someone earlier said that they leave the DSC on in inclement weather.

Nobody disputes the usefulness of traction control when the road is nasty, but the only cars that handle badly enough to need DSC in good conditions are the same cars that are too cheap to have it.

WHy does everyone blame electronics for thier problems?
Who was driving your car when it crashed? YOU were driving. So, although luck plays a lot, it was your fault more than it was the computer's fault.

I am very sorry to hear about your car. I hope that your unibody is straight as an arrow so it will be the same after some work.

Random- I have the same brakes as you on my E30. I have E36 325 hubs with E46 330 brakes. I like them a lot.
