buddy gets married, i'm in the wedding, but i bring my camera along for kicks. i make them a cheapo $40 Blurb book, just to try it out for myself (basically lacking a better set of pics to try them out with).

I give it to them as a nice gesture.

when people ask to see their wedding album, they show them both the professional one (large leather-bound one ... not sure where it's from) and my POS blurb book.

Everyone likes both but raves about the "small one your photographer did". They're all embarrased & don't have the balls to tell people that their photographer didn't do that.

    I'd be pissed

    that is all. carry on.

i don't know that i really "out shot" her ... a lot of her prints were really good. looking at them, i would have rather had her shoot my wedding than me. (well, i wouldn't want to shoot my own wedding, but that's a different story) :o

her book was reallllly nice quality, but looking through it was just ... "meh". the blurb book definitely wasn't "all that", but shit - it took a whopping 3 hours to put together (since i had no idea what i was doing).

I recently took pics at a wedding and sent them to the bride and groom, they said they liked mine better than their photographers too. :h5:

I've gotten praises like that before too. I try to stay out of the wedding photographer's way though. I just take the silly candids.
