My doctor didn't seem to think much of it, but I did. I'm normally in the 110/70-80 range, but today when the nurse took my blood pressure it came back 139/59. Normally, they're both high or both low...never had one be high and the other low.

I'm going to go take it @ CVS or something later today and see if I can chalk it up to machine error (it was electronic). Thoughts on why the spread would be so big?

    "White coat syndrome"

Get a home monitor and start checking it daily if you're really worried. 139/59 isn't that high.

My blood pressure is always fine @ the doctor's office. I'll go check it later tonight and see what I get.

129/69 @ CVS...the systolic is still higher than normal, but I'm a lot more comfortable with a spread of 60mmHg vs. 80.

Back when I didn't give a shit about health, mine came back at 180/115. That scared me......now I'm consistantly around 120/65 with eating healthy and lifting. Can't complain about looking, feeling and being all around better

    She was Asian.

    Probably in her early 50s.

    And she had braces.

I didn't drink any coffee and I was like 139/80 when i went to the doctors the other day... and the lady didn't even say anything about it. "It's in normal range"

I'm doing a shitload more cardio lately hoping that will help bring it down. I've already cut sodium and have a good diet and i'm not fat. If the cardio doesn't help I really don't know what to do besides get on high BP medicine.

It runs in my mom's side of the family. My uncle bikes like a madman and is sorta jacked for a 50 year old man and he has crazy high blood pressure :wtc:

140 is considered hypertension...139 is technically prehypertension, but I'd still take it seriously.

if you have any thought about it being high get it checked and rechecked and rechecked..........that shit will wreck your heart. They say my blood pressure was one of the factors (that, sleep apnea and being a fatty) that fucked my heart over. Now, on meds I stay around 90 over 55. My highest ever recorded was like 175 over 125 :hsd:

Damn, just made a new thread about HBP... I didn't even see this one.

Yeah, mine has always been pretty good 120/80 ish or better... and just in the last few weeks it has been going up. I've had readings for the top ranging from 130 to as high as 160 and readings for the bottom between 80-95.

It's really starting to worry me. I am a pretty healthy person. I eat well and workout. Granted, my bad asthma has kept me out of the gym for 2 months now, but I can't imagine 2 months of inactivity causing my BP to go from normal to full-blown hypertension :ugh:
