I'd like to say I'm the matsui of jiu jitsu competition.. I have the skills to school a lot of guys, and I do, and then for some reason I like to lose in the last five seconds. Thats my trademark..

fight 1 - this one was easy, this was against the 2nd place guy in the naga intermediate division

fight 2 - watch me dominate someone and then be careless with my arm in the last two minutes :greddy:

fight 3 - fight for third place, have the fight in the bag, and in a stroke of genius turtle and let the guy take my back in the last 10 seconds.. turning my score of 4-2 into 4-6 in his favor.

I'm very frustrated right now to say the least.

  2. Nice job. You look far more confident. I am only seeing 30 seconds of each though. :dunno:

Now I wish I had gone. We could've gone head to head

Will you be at the Omega challenge in 2 weeks?

I just noticed you really like that x-guard lol, that was a sweet transition from the x-gaurd to the single in the beginning of the 2nd match also.

How long have you've been training again?

a little over three years.. yeah x-guard is my thing.. i got it like ten times at this tournament.. i really should've won my division. im having so much trouble sleeping right now because of the two dumb mistakes that cost me my fights. id like better to get killed by someone than to feel like im better than them and then have them beat me

You're ability off of your back is twice as good, from the vids I've watched of you, as your ability on top. You are pretty good at passing the guard, but you need to check his hip right away. IMHO I think you should focus on passing the guard and what not for the next few weeks/months.

when you turtled, were you thinking "aww I shoulda kept his back" instead of reacting?

it looked like a second before you stepped forward then turtled, you could have taken his back and hung on there :dunno: if you didn't see it it probably wasn't an option, I was just wondering if you had something on your mind at that moment

    yeah, i know :hs:

is it just nerves? maybe you need to vary your practice partners for versatility?

i know i definitely need to spar with guys with tricky guards.. because i dont have a lot of those guys where i train. I have a lot of guys who like to pass guard, thats why my half guard is tricky. but it was mostly just careless mistakes that costed me these fights.. my own stupidity, not so much the guys i was fighting

well, thanks for sharing the vids i very much enjoyed them.

  22. Finally got to watch the full matches. You looked very good except for those two mistakes. I think you'd beat them 9/10 times but unfortunately they won this time. :hs:
