I got my christmas present from a friend of mine today.

    AE-1, winder, Vivitar 285 flash, 28mm 2.8, 50mm 1.8, and a 75-200mm.

The flash works on my 20d :mamoru:

The ae1 is fucked up. The meter works, but the winder lever seems to be stuck. Also there is some wierd bar thing over the shutter.

Ohh, the mirror is stuck up. Like sensor clean, but there is no sensor. :mamoru:

Is this worth fixing? All of this stuff is really clean looking.

Worth about 110 in working order (body), not a bad 35 mm camera. Pretty common and popular for photo 101 classes.

if its a canon 28mm about 50 for the lense, 50mm 1.8 is about 20 (roughing from KEH)

75-200 F4.5 MACRO FD? if so about 50 for that too

prices were ment more to show that its still sought after and used. It is a pretty good camera and well worth getting repaired.

I have my dads old one. Its the rarer Black body. Guess that why I went with an all Black XT as well.

It is a great camera, have two. Only thing that sucks is that it uses the old FD mount lenses.

because you cant share lenses with any EOS. Oh, and FDs are ancient so you need to be careful when buying them.

Because I have EOS bodies (except for the AE-1's) and it sucks not being able to share glass between them. I have a good collection of L glass in the ef mount.

I think I'm going to sell it.

Two of the lenses don't stop down, and the camera is fucked up. :hsd:

I think it would be worth it to sell and put the money into your DSLR (assuming you have one and if not then to save and get one). prices would just be dropping even faster on the 35mm so spend what you get for selling it on a lense, flash, mem card, etc.
