Someone recommended Sto-Fen omnibounce diffuser, is this the best? Anyone use it? Where's the best place to get a diffuser? Shit when I ordered my flash I assumed the diffuser was included.... silly me..

stofen is good, as are others, depends on what you want to do with it

you can go to a camera store and ask for a Lee gel sample pack for different gels and diffusers to put infront of the flash (should be free)

learn to bounce the flash too. a diffuser infront a straight on on camera flash doesn't do a whole lot

So I can probably just go to Ritz and pick up a diffuser and maybe the sample gel pack also? I went looking on B&H for like 20 minutes and coudlnt find anything.. :hs:

go back to B&H, and never ever walk into a kitz/ritz.

Just get a regular one to start, as you grow with your flash you can figure out what you want...

I feel kinda silly with only 1 item in my shopping cart. Can anyone find the hot shoe cable for the flash on B&H website? I can't find it on there :hs:

    ettl or manual cord?

ettl - canon off camera shoe cord 2
M only - any sync cord with hot shoe adapters for camera and flash

ettl allows for full auto settings, manual makes you know guide numbers etc and do a lot of adjusting of the flash, aperatue and iso

ettl is the common cord, but the canon brand one is 60-70. someone here just found a generic for 30-40

I don't mind spending the 60-70 for the canon brand if I could find it :wtc:

canon's have a wide angle "diffuser" that flips in front. so yeah you basically have to go buy your own

no gels, no care. You can be like Dave Black if you have gels.

yea there's that cheap flip front diffuser, and there's a piece of paper behind the flip thing I just tore it out (haha jk) The white paper thing is in there pretty good so it looks like it's part of the diffuser. I guess it just guides the light so it doesnt' go backwards :dunno:
