saw one at the dealer today after the wife was picking up her passat for an oil change (BTW 70k miles and no problems for a 2000 1.8T).
first impression: very nice in person compared to pics.
    -large 17' rims/tires w/ large disc brakes
-fully loaded w/ leather; no nav. very comfy and luxurious.
-ergonomics were great with a nice layout and everything w/in ur fingertips.
-room for 5. no 3rd bench seating.
-spare comes deflated but with portable compressor
-no a bad price for $36K
-has the 4WD system with ABS, EBs, ESR, etc.
    -brakes were great
-tiptronic was smooth and engaged quietly and the only way to take advantage of the powerband..
-steering was responsive with great feedback. easy to control.
-no significant body roll or flex
-ride was smooth and not harsh.
-overall it was built solid and very quiet

misses: for the V6 rated @220 it felt very sluggish. u had to floor it to get it to move.
-AC was very weak. would not get the cabin cold even for dual climate control on full blast.
    -obviously very heavy.
    -15/26 mpg

wait for the V8. i did drive my friends honda pilot and that had more power, more room, and cost less. he got it loaded at $30K.

the V8 version of the tourag is listed at over $45K. ouch..........
