Don't ask me why but I decide to make my first PS tutorial; how to add clouds to spicen up your pictures

    1. Open your the picture in photoshop.

Here's a pic I took yesterday down by the beach here in PB, the sky turned out nice since I used a CPL filter but I figured I could use it anyway as an example.

    2. Google the words: sky, clouds etc. for photos of different skies. (Make sure to search for high res photos)

Download the photo and open it in a new window in photoshop.

Highres of this particular photo can be found here: http://www.turbophoto.com/graphic-de...ges/Clouds.JPG

    3. Drag the skypic into your photo so it becomes a new layer and resize it so it fits over your sky

    4. Look at your layer list and choose the sky layer, then click in the little dropdown menu where it now says normal and choose "Hard light"

    5. Press control + shift + U to make the sky layer desaturated.

It should look like this by now...

    6. Now just use the eraser with 0% hardness and a really big master diameter to get a nice faded effect, drag it along the horizon....

(In this photo my buddies are where the sky is since it's shot from a frog's perspective so I used a small diameter brush to delete the clouds from their bodies.

    7. Done and done!

This shouldn't take more than 5 minutes...

Oh, and If you guys want to try to do this with the images I used, feel free:

I used a sky with a different perspective to make it look realistic in this photo.

I was going to say "what the fuck for?" and that there are limits to post production, but that actually looks pretty cool.

its shows a bit, all the stuff I've ever seen on your site is way over sharpened and over saturated

you aren't really stealing other images and making them part of your own and then posting them on your site are you?

how hard is it to take images of clouds for later use?

Maybe not, but then it's not all that hard to do what he did...in fact I know how to make what he did easier
Also what I did shows that it's possible to add the clouds without having to go out looking for some image some place else and try to fit it in

I wanna know where some of these were shot. I like the torrey pines and rancho santa fe areas but never find places to get some good shots.

    +1 (or +0.5 since I don't have an AV)

I'd really like to know basic post editing in PS. I plan on getting courses this winter.
