I popped it in last night and was about to just play a few multiplayer matches but when I selected MP it said "we strongly suggest you play campaign first" so I figured that was probably a good idea. I've played through campaign in the last 2 games before going to MP but after seeing the MP videos I've been so pumped to jump into Multiplayer!

I'm sure campaign will fly by - they always have pretty good stories and this one seems great so far.

Been waiting for this day for a long time! This is definitely my most anticipated game of the year and so far, I'm not disappointed and I've barely played a couple hours.

I know a lot of people skipped WAW but I loved it. I played the shit out of it. It's very refreshing to go back to the modern weapons/style though. The last one was a nice change up too...

    Have fun guys!

Shit really? Have you played the stories at all in the games? Or do you usually skip them?

Well if I start single player I'll try out multiplayer and not go back to finish the campaign for 3 months. I'll wait to do it all in one go....which wont be hard at 4 hours to see it through

I usually do single player until I feel comfortable with the controls, or I finish the game if it's interesting.

Single is worthless. The controls are the same as from cod mw. There's no learning process necessary.

Always campaign first. It's good preparation for MP so that the first time I join a server I don't get my ass handed to me.

I played the SP first. Beat it in about 4 and a half hours. It's pretty good, just like the previous game. Only one mission really stood out (airport) IMO.

Don't think I'll be playing multiplayer.

Pretty much. I'm still considering getting the PC version for multiplayer. I don't think it's worth $60 to me though. No dedicated servers, can't choose which server you want to join, 6v6 (9v9 in one mode), etc. Seems like it would be a clusterfuck. I don't mind 6v6 as long as the maps are small enough.

So is this shit worth buying or not? I bought CoD4 for PS3 but kind of regretted it because I couldn't get used to aiming in MP. On the other hand, I enjoyed being able to sit on the couch and chill during the SP campaign.

I was considering getting MW2 for PC this time, but after hearing about no dedicated servers, I'm not sure.

i always play the campaign first. at the very least i consider it training.

for Gears 2 i did the opposite - played Horde mode first so i could practice for the single player hard difficulty level.

I'd say rent it if you want to play SP or try out multi. I heard you can't even select which lobby you want to enter on the PC version, it's all matchmaking. That alone is reason enough not to buy it IMO.

Wow it's really that short? That's definitely shorter than the last 2. I think I took about 6-7 hours on 4 and maybe around the same for 5. I guess they really put all the juice into creating Multiplayer on this one. Which is fine, I mean, people put literally DAYS worth of time into playing it but 4.5 hours is a quick Campaign.

yea thats why i don't understand on here why people take opinions of people who race through the games.

"oh i beat it in X hours, it sucks"

last game i remember that i raced through was so i could unlock something, and that was resident evil 2.

starting SP right now. plan to take my time and enjoy my money spent

and the nvg's are fun, i was just walking around my basement with them on. :bigthumb:
