I recently came across an album I've been looking for for a while
the (Melbourne) peeping tom's last cd just before the split up
and its making me relive some awesome gig night memories.

I was thinking 'my god, there inst anyone in the world that cant enjoy this, music at its finest.' Of course..I'm dead wrong, everyone listens to to totally different things.

    So now i ask

(..and with OTCC Secret Santor coming up as well)

What do you filthy hobos listen to, and how does it greatly vary from what i like?
    go on, disappoint me...:big grin:

Oh, and heres a taste of what I'm talking about, if your interested.

FYI there's another group called Peeping Tom started by Mike Patton (one of the most important vocalists of the past decade or so).

As for what I listen to, it's all over the map. Some of my favorite songs this year:

i know about pattons peeping tom, which is why i specified Melbourne

they actually got quite a fat check from Mr. Patton, since they had the name registered from 1998.

I went and saw them open for Coheed and Cambria a few years back. They are really amazing live (so was coheed). One of the best shows I've seen.

And I really didn't care for the latest one, but RobotHive/Exodus and From Beale St to Oblivion are amazing albums.

    Really?
robot hive was..ok but that album and everything after aren't really doing anything for me.

Pure Rock Fury, Elephant Riders (and if you can find it) Slow hole to China (b-sides album) is probably their best.
Folk, groove, stoner rock? what are they?
    I DON'T KNOW
    but i love it

    wait..hold up...OPEN for Coheed?
sadpanda (sorry, not a coheed fan)

PRF and elephant riders would be my next choices.

I think I like it because it's so different. Reminds me of Queens of the Stone age, but instead of California...they're from the east coast.

And you should have seen the show, it was as diverse as it was amazing. Fall of Troy opened it up, more for the younger crowd, but those kids have some crazy talent and a great stage presence. Clutch comes out and blows it out of the water, I bought balcony tickets and I was still down on the floor. No crazy pit to get killed in (those hurt) just everyone down having a blast. Coheed live was one of the best shows I've ever seen (and I'm way into metal). Claudio has an amazing talent, to play lead and sing like that, it's something to behold. That and he came back and did a 20 minute encore which was practically a 20 minute solo with a guitar that looked like Satan had given him.

I read the first 100 or so comics of Ultimate X-Men listening to nothing but:

    Opeth - Blackwater Park
    Opeth - Ghost Reveries

It seriously made the arcs a whole lot more epic than they actually were. :o

Actually, I also read all of Y the Last Man with the same two albums. So incredible.

Ghost Reveries is such a good album. I was so disappointed when Opeth came to town and played nothing on that album. Turns out the guitarist quit the band after reveries was released and the new guy couldn't play them :(

Still an awesome band, and that was a kickass show.

When I saw them play about 6 months ago, they played nothing from Blackwater Park. I was pretty disappoint, but they played some older stuff which was still exciting. :hs:
