    1. It was never 4000 lbs, not even the GT500. Current GT is 3590.

    2. 3603 curb weight, official from Ford as of yesterday.

    3. I'm amazed TriShield didn't post up a thread for this in here, there were two 5.0 Mustang threads in the main forum.

    4. Lick my taint, noob.

    woah, woah wait

are you surprised a supercharged engine thats conservatively rated at 540hp is faster than a N/A 420 car?

I think he is surprised that it is barely faster than the Camaro putting out 120hp less.

Im not a mustang fan but its hard to ignore the facts

    2011 Mustang GT: 412hp
2010 Camaro SS: ~422 (depending on trans)
    2010 SRT-8: 425

300lbs lighter than the Camaro and 500lbs lighter than the SRT8

Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing, DOHC 32v 302ci Engine, 6 Speed Trans, first good looking engine in a GT in who knows how long. Rumor has it that it will make bolt on 03/04 cobra numbers with simple bolt ons.

I think fords got a winner on their hands... esp if its priced like current mustangs.

could not have said it better.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Mustang will be significantly less expensive than the Camaro SS too. :bigthumb:

The magazine results were due to inferior traction, I believe. I'm not a Mustang fan, but it's nice to see a 32 valve V8 and some more modern technology in a car that people can afford.

Are they still putting in the little pipe that routes engine sound to the cabin?:mamoru:

Yeah, wtf is with that? They've been talking about IRS for a long time now and it just doesn't seem to get done. I remember some test mules, but no production ones unless something is out there I haven't heard of (very possible since I'm not really into Mustangs).

so what? there's only been 4 times in the last year that I wish my 99 didn't have a LRA....and the last time is when i was trying to get to the indoor pistol range at the gun club so you can imagine that road. LRA, irs doesn't matter 99% of the time

it's not a sports car, it's a pony. Live rear axle just makes more since for what they're doing... Now, I would like to see them put an IRS in the Cobra.

Can anyone comment on the expected cost of this car?

What, the front engine muscle car doesn't handle like an Elise? I want my minivan sized investment back!

SRA msutangs are not known for handling poorly, IRS mustangs are not known for handling greatly. Both are enough to put up similar or better stats against the IRS camaro.

Wheelspin like a motherfucker. GT500s run high 11s on drag radials.

Ford is saying 28-32k depending on trim level; so, competitive.

my bad, it makes sense i just misread it.

2 wheels can only put down so much power.
