for me, uk pop. Steps, Sugababes, Liberty X, Jamelia.

A lot of UK pop is rather camp and quirky but i suppose it just demonstrates the eccentricity of British popular culture.

I also like a lot of Latino music. I go for about anything but UK Pop is where my heart belongs. Go to any gay club in London and there'll be camp music playing.

Uhhh...I'm not gonna be representative of the current generation of young b/g/m men (cause I'm not young) but:

Late 70's/Early 80's Punk (Dead Kennedy's, The Clash, Black Flag, X, Etc...)
General 70's/80's progressive (The Jam, XTC, Oingo Boingo, Talking Heads, Bauhaus, Love & Rockets, Joy Division)
Various 80's on up (Pet Shop Boys, James, Tori Amos, Live, Information Society, Pansy Division, New Order, Depeche Mode, TFF, Sarah M., Suzanne Vega, Peter Gabriel, Electronic, The Smiths, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure, NiN, oh god...I'll stop now)

Very few bands from the last 5 or 6 years have really done it for me. I kinda liked Remy Zero but they broke up after three albums. I don't tend to follow a specific genre...if it sounds good and the lyrics are well-crafted and contain a little substance I will usually like it.

:) Mmmm...Verve Pipe...I went to college at the same place as a couple of the guys from VP (at the same time as they were there). Saw them millions of times before they got a record deal.

    VP Trivia:

The Freshmen is actually a song from Brian VanderArk's previous band, Johnny with an Eye. It's the only song (that I know of) that they carried over between the two bands.

...then I have to hit some Temptations, Earth Wind & Fire, Patti, and Tina. At this point, I'll hit some Whitney, Mariah, and Celine. Usually, I need to get a lil Urban Soul, so I'll hit some Eryka, some Jill Scott, and some Lauren Hill. Then, it's time to get crunk, so I'll add a lil Yin Tang Twins, Kanye West, Sean Paul, Beyonce, and Britney (new album (very madonna)). And to wrap up, I'll listen to the power that Miss Christina A has in her voice, and fall asleep... (at some point, R. Kelly is needed too)

...in other words, my tastes are varied.

I loved steps. have all their US and UK cds. Saw Lisa Scott Lee live at G.A.Y. Hated H and Claire though when they went as a duo.

I have both misteeq cds. The second album isnt as good. I preferred them as garage pop, not r&b.

All the pop acts in the UK are dying out. First Steps, then Atomic Kitten... :wtc:
