I want to create a musical beast for production using a computer as the brain, and really do not know where to start. Should I def. invest in a mac? I have Reason hybrid version (which seems to be a pretty decent program to start off with) and want to keep adding on machines (synths, samplers, turntables , amps for instruments etc.) that would be compatible with the program, but am really clueless on how to go about finding the necessary info.

The end product I would like to be able to use for live performance with guest artists etc.

Any other programs you would recommend? Realistically speaking how good would the quality of such music be compared to studio recordings?

The genre of music would fall into the electronica, downtempo, chillout subgenres if that makes anything clearer...

    Please help!!!

So, how exactly are you feeling limited by Reason?
