Since I'm new here: A band I really like is Muse. You might have heard "Time is Running Out" on your favorite radio station recently. However, they aren't really that big in the states yet. Who here likes Muse? Also, if you have any suggestions in music for me based on the fact that I like Muse, lemme have em. (Apart from radiohead, ahh.)

    Me too :wavey:

There quite well known here in the UK. Been a fan of them for many years, got all there albums and seen them live several times. If you haven't heard there early stuff you should definetaly get there first album showbiz, its there best one IMHO. You might also like Modest mouse, Franz ferdinand or the Mars volta maybe :dunno:

    All good suggestions, fatlip.

I love Muse. I saw them perform at Coachella this year, and I feel honored, since they don't play in the states very often. The only way to describe the live performance feel: it was like a rock symphony.

    Muse rocks!

Muse are a lot like Cave-In, but calmer and less guitar driven. So you'd probably like them. They also remind me a lot of Idlewild.

Check out stellastarr if you like muse as well...

lyx thats sweet you saw coachella, my friend drove from denver over night to see it. I had finals that day though...Thankfully lollapalooza exploded so I get to see most of those bands in small doses (!!! wednesday, modest mouse on the 26th...sonic youth is playing the same night which sucks).

Yeah, it was amazing. Stellastarr* was awesome as well. Top performances were:

    Radiohead (duh!)
    Muse
    Stellastarr*
    Bright Eyes

In that order. Sad you missed a great show, but it was 100 degrees the first day and 106 the second, so be glad you missed it for that reason :p

I'd say they taste like Radiohead, circa "The Bends" with a bit of a Coldplay aftertaste.

Actually, they're probably already peaked over here in the States with Muscle Museum a few years ago. They didn't even bother releasing the album before Absolution over here. :hs:

I just had a chance to listen to the album again yesterday and I was not impressed. Too many of the songs sounded the same. It sounded like a big blob of music bits.

One other band that comes to mind is "Ours", they are almost like a US version of Muse.:)

Also, don't forget Jeff Buckley! He seems to be the "founding father" of both bands, at least in times of style and sound. And on a similar note, I've heard that "Grace" by Jeff Buckley has been slated for reissue as a 2 cd and 1 dvd set!:wiggle:
