Well, I'm going on Accutane in a few weeks from now, and they are telling me to go on a low fat diet meaning no fried foods. I am just wondering but, will the amount of fat in muscle milk interfere with my cholestorol? My dermatologist says this is the main thing to look out for when on it.

isn't accutane the shit that can seriously fuck you up, like. it works great on acne, but can.... i dunno. have seriously bad side effects.

i wouldn't fuck with what your doctor tells you.

You should be fine as long as you're still working out.

I'm thinking that cholesterol is mostly genetic and only slightly food dependent. Also I don't think that the amount of fat in your diet has much to do with your cholesterol level. MM only has 3mg of cholesterol per serving.

Sat. fats have more of an impact on cholesterol levels than cholesterol does.

I would do what your doc says. Also i wouldn't drink alcohol because accutaine is really hard on your liver.

I had a look, it appears that accutane elevates cholesterol levels. Perhaps you should do as your doctor says and avoid the muscle milk, maybe some plain ON whey would suffice?

I would also discuss with him the consumption of efa's etc as cutting out fats entirely could be hazardous.

How bad is your acne and how hard was it to convince your doc to give you accutane? Or did he/she suggest it? I finally got health insurance again and I seriously need something for my acne :hs:

Depending on how bad your acne is, you may want to consider tetracycline instead of Accutane. It's a whole lot cheaper, doesn't mess with your cholesterol levels, and doesn't cause chemical imbalances in the brain.

The only downside to it is that your skin becomes sensitive to light, so you might burn like crazy while on it.

:werd: I took accutaine a few years ago, i can get a tan so easy now. I tried a lot of shit, all of the acne meds but none would work but accutaine. It also clears up scaring really well also.

He never told me to avoid muscle milk, he just told me to avoid greasy foods such as pizza, fried foods because of possible cholestorol increase. He said I could eat any other fats I want.

It's not really that bad, but I've tried every other medicine before accutane. Last one really worked, it was called Cephalexin, but after I stopped taking it all came back again. I'm looking for more of a cure, so that's why I'm taking accutane. Five or more of my friends here have told me they've taken accutane, and it worked great for them, they barely have any acne. They also said the only side effects they got were dry skin/lips, not even nose bleeds, so I'm definitely not scared of taking it.

nope, you can't saturate fat any further than fully saturated. And 8g per serving is a shitload, I would pick up some different protein.

well, i figured you already had the MM. can always just take the nutritional facts to the doctor as well.

but ya, ON whey is good. mix with milk and it's awesome. love the stuff. toss in some peanutbutter, a banana, some olive oil, some oats and you've got 1k calorie shake.
