how much of this is true? i haven't worked out in a solid year but my muscles never went back to how they looked before i started lifting. i look more like my in shape than my scrawny pre-workout self. do your muscles permanently stay bigger after working out or are they supposed to completely atrophy back to the way they were? just interested since i looked at my "before" pics and i look nothing like that now despite not working out anymore.

you will lose most of your gains if you do fuck all for a year or so, sure, but youll have a hidden base there which will make it alot easier to get back to your fit self

It gets thrown around a lot but I've never seen a study to support it. It could be bro-science. Then again I've never looked into it, it sure as hell didn't work for me

I took about four months off and when I came back to working out, my gains shot up really quickly to what they were before and then some. So you don't completely lose it. But I imagine over time your muscles would probably start to degrade due to no use.
