Greetings F&N. I need some quick help here.

I was running a half marathon today and around mile 10 all of a sudden, my left calf muscle tightened up causing sharp pain. I carefully stretched it and continued. It randomly gave me some pains every few mins where I stopped and stretched again. Around mile 12, all of a sudden, my right calf, and the left & right muscles above the calf on the upper part of the leg cramped up caushing sharp pain. I did some stretches after that and ended up walking (-tried to jog, but would end up walking when they would cramp up again) the remaining of the race. Anyone have any idea of what caused this? Do I need I see a doctor or physical therapist?

    Some more background:
I stretched very well prior to beginning the race. I drank lots of water and powerade at the stations. Weather was mid to high 80's, had a red flag alert, which they told us to stay hydrated. I feel that I was properly hydrated, but will admit that it was waay too fucking hot outside. I took 3 gu gels - spread out throughout the race. One thing was that I couldn't take a crap in the morning because it as too early (3am) - not sure if this affects hydration. My stomach felt that it was jumping around during most of the race. I have two other ran half marathons, and two 10 mile races within the last 15 months and this is the first time I have had such a cramp. After the race, I took a cold salt water bath and then took a hot salt water bath. Right now I can walk around just fine and have no cramps just soreness.

    Thanks in advance.
