how does osx work with different languages? i know that they support many languages but i dont understand the extent of the support.

i mean, can i switch the whole interface to another language, and type only within that language if i chose to?

It converts the OS and keyboard inputs to a foreign language, but not the applications, unless they implement it, i believe.

differences between the computers is the bus speed, inability for extended desktop on the ibook, and some memory upgradeability differences.
