The Gerbers are decent. I like my Leatherman a lot and I find it easier to use then the Gerbers. SOG makes some too but I don't have any experience with them...they look nice though. Tim Leatherman is from Oregon and is kind of a faggot so if I were to do it again I'd try out an SOG.

I see them on steepandcheap every so often for ~$20

Skeletool is a pretty good basic plier/cutter/driver.

I have a variant of the Compact Sport. It's a decent multitool that doesn't try to do everything (which multitools are horrible at).

    DOT.

I have one sitting in my desk at work, not worth the money. Used it for about 2 weeks and the pliers are now screwed up, does not spring open anymore and just is pretty lame.

When I got the Scout home and cleaned it out I found a Leatherman under the driver's seat. I keep it in there since it's saved my ass once already.

I think I paid somewhere around $170 or something from an OT group buy. What do they go for now? I actually have to look at the model that I have, but I a pretty sure that is the one. Its super nice, but the case for it is just too big, and I just really prefer my leatherman. I bought the SOG and it's sat ever since. I'll look tomorrow and let you know.
