i give my 4-year old daughter some gummy bear vitamins, she loves them! Some types have a shit ton of sugar though, so check the label.

    I don't prefer a particular brand, but here's a few guidelines:

    - Liquid is better than solid or gummy
    - Make sure it has some sort of "liquid greens" or "whole foods" complex, stuff like spirullina and powdered greens.
    - You don't always have to follow doseage guidelines. If the bottle says take 3 a day, you can take 1 or 2 a day and make the bottle last longer, and use it as an excuse to get more vitamins from foods.
    - Get the child involved in buying the product, sometimes it makes it easier to get them to take it
    - Liquids vitamins can be mixed with juice to cover up flavors.

    still thinking

If the kid has a good diet with lots of veggies he probably doesn't need anything. If his staples are chicken nuggets and tater-tots, he may need something like a chewable kids vitamin.
