i'm not even sure if thats the correct term, but is there any way to have 2 ip's per ethernet port?

i have a wireless and an ethernet on my laptop. and i've got an ethernet on my desktop. all 3 connect to the same wireless router setup as an AP. the router (setup as a switch/AP) connects to the public campus network. I want the ethernet port on my laptop to be a private IP and the wireless to be a public IP given out by the campus. the desktop currently has a public IP. is there anyway to make the desktop respond to a request from a private IP and a public IP on the same ethernet port?

You can manually assign multiple IP addresses to an XP Pro machine's NIC if that's what you're trying to do. Its under the advanced button of TCP/IP properties.

What is the reason for doing this again.

You could just grab a second ethernet card also...
