Mud Run Challenge

    I have 185 days until a 5k Mud Run. I'm not in great shape (but I do run 30 mins 4 days a week). I'm a female 6 feet, athletic my whole life (just had shoulder surgery two years ago and got my clean bill of health recently)

    Help! :eek3:


    I know I'm a noob, but please help, I have no idea how to train for this. :noes:

    hmm, looks interesting.

    I would defiantly hit the gym and work you hams and calves with weights.
    squats/good mornings and whatnot.

    also what you might try is getting on the elliptical and cranking the resistance all the way and doing 20 minute sessions. killer on your legs but it will work you for this.

    you can also takes christophers sled method and pull a heavy object around for a while.

    hahaha, no no - I'm not in the Marines (dated a few, does that count?) :naughty:




    the elliptical seems good. I use that every now and then and ususally keep it at a resistance of '7' for 30 mins. I lift my upper body, but have never really done much lifting for my legs.

    I would invest in some vaseline because holy shit I'd have some serious chafing after doing that.

    we have to run it in combant boots and BDUs.

    the BDUs will be nice because they're not cotton and won't hold the water. The boots just because they won't come off in the water

    I would crank it up to 12-14 and put the ramp all the way up.

    and really work on resistance with your calves and hams.
