I've been doing mt for 3 months now and am loving it. The only problem is when i get kicked in the thigh during sparring my leg just gives out. Does it just take time to get used to recieving kicks to the thigh? I do squats and leg workouts at the gym. Any advice would be greatly appreaciated.

Of course it will get better. Your nerves will get used to it, or possibly just deaden over time.

Don't tell your friends, because I'm sure they'd give you charlie horses daily then.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Lift your leg up, pull your toes to your shin straight up, aim your shin to the leg attacking you.

    Voila!

    Check kick.

Be sure not to point or check with your knee into their shin, atleast not in training.

If a single kick dropps you you either 1) need ot toughen up a bit or 2) might want ot give you leg some time to heal.

if u cant check it in time FLEX ur muscle thats about to get pwned. WAY better than getting hit in any other state, including pitifully attempting to move ur leg out of the way

You should probably be always doing this because you stand on the balls of your feet.

    And learn to check!

are you really taking MT ?? wouldnt your instructor tell you this?? Checking a kick should be a very basic defensive technique, and one that should be taught almost immediately, anyways, GL with the progress.
