I'm gym-less right now. Started training when I was in Tennessee for 3 months and now I'm back at home, no time to hit up a new place but I'm on it first thing after the holidays.

Anyway I've got a few heavy/banana bags at the Rec here and I'm trying to get an intense training session in (better than nothing).

Give me some shit to do, anything from drills, cardio, combos, whatever the fuck. I want to not be able to stand after this.

    Thanks ngas

I dont like to burn out on the bag. I try to focus more on technique.

    Warm Up:
    150 Front Kicks
    30 second break
    150 Front Kicks
    30 second break
    150 Right Round Kicks
    30 second break
    150 Left Round Kicks
    30 second break
    150 Knees
    30 second break
    150 Knees

2 three minute rounds with just hands

2 rounds with boxing, low kicks, and push kicks

    2 rounds with everything

when you're done, jump rope for 3 three minute rounds.

Was waiting for you to come through for me bro, sounds good

I wish I had something other than just the bag, but no partners/pads sucks.

That warm up might absolutely toast your legs if you arent used to it. I slack of then get back in the gym and my quads give out towards the end.

If your legs die then just do all hands for the following rounds.

And i'm a huge fan of jumping rope and shadow boxing complete rounds after your workout. nothings better than looking like absolute shit doing somethign easy infront of everyone.

Holy shit checkii, I do all of those including the boxing rounds and such, but never 150 lol. We do 20 push kicks, round houses, switch and do mit work for about 50 shots of 3 separate combos and repeat it twice. That's seriously a lot of shit, but I'll give that a try on Wed.

the jumping rope at the end is hands down the hardest part.

also, nothign should be for power, just all technique and paced.

My god, trained with a buddy of mine tonight that moved to SF and has been at Fairtex. Holy shit the stuff he was showing me. They get ZERO contact unless they test into sparring. Everything else is just padwork. The combos he was showing me though were awesome.

example: dude jabs, you reach over with your lead hand, pull his shoulder down, at the same time your sweep their lead leg with your lead leg, that makes them fall forward to their right, than you come over the top with a right to the ear, switch up and follow up with a left headkick.

    shit was fun.

that sounds hard to pull off, but fun.

funny about all your gyms though. we throw them in the deep end pretty early at our gym. granted its all very light and controlled at that stage, but still.

eh, usually the new guys cant control their kicks and punches, so "light sparring" usually gets someone hurt

after I stopped doing physical therapy, a lot of the pain went away. that shit is terrible for you. I am just trying to get back more and lose some of the fat I earned with my time off. Did padwork for the first time in probably 6 months last night and looked AWFUL. :hs:

    I know :wtc:

The guys that are good always treat me like i'm good, so I get pretty banged up. But it's more fun than getting stuck patty-caking with the not-so-good people.

you should make a point of it to take extra time to warm up in the beginning and cool down at the end. do a bunch of dynamic stretches too. that shit makes me feel so good.

completely off topic.... been looking at apartments and jobs in SD. what's the best area to look in. i need something affordable.

What kind of work are you looking to do?

My area is the best deal, they call it mid city, but definitely want to stay on the west side of midcity.

    Look In:
    Normal Heights (my hood)
    University Heights
    North Park
    Point Loma
    South Park

    More money:
    Bay Park
    Bay Ho
    Hillcrest
    Mission Hills
    Kensington
    University City
