I'm sure this has been asked a million times before, but I have been getting up and going to a windows pc just to use mspaint. What is the next best thing for OS X? (panther)

I have Gimp, but I want something much more lightweight and simple. Also it needs to export to gif and jpg.

I'm really surprised that OS X doesn't come with this kind of thing. Didn't ms paint start out as an apple product?

preview can export to jpeg and giff if you're just converting images.

Please explain how PREVIEW would help me do what I want to do. Or IPHOTO or GRAPHICCONVERTER.

edit: I forgot that my last reply to this thread was lost when my web browser ate it. What I want to do is draw basic sketches, mostly diagrams for geometry problems but some freehand stuff as well. The kind of thing that you would use MS PAINT for.

OH REALLY CAN I FIND THE ANSWERS TO MY QUESTIONS USING GOOGLE? lc :hsugh:

Don't feel bad though, I have low expectations for :2006:

TMLF: Thanks for the seashore link. Is there an easy way to draw circles / ellipses with it? The circle and rectangle tools in MS Paint are very handy for me.

hey, this Seashore is pretty neat. Thanks.

Even though I'm a power Photoshop user and don't really need it, it's nice to have something simple.

Why don't you do something worthwhile with your life, for once.

    Like ending it.

Way to make a point, its you're, which means you are. What you posted means the possession of the 2nd person.

I have never found anyone that liked paint more than anything else, including GIMP. Paint is the most worthless photo editing piece of software ever created, if it could even be called a photo editor. i don't see how gimp is "too much"...

no, i didn't read the other response. there is a program that allows freehand drawing but I don't remember the name of it. my buddy has it on his laptop, i'll ask him.

    Here is one I found:
