There are so many things wrong with that article.
And God, man, you HAVE to post this in the main forums.
reason number 1: women don't have reasons. THEY don't even know why they do things.
Yeah buddy a bit over half the worlds population is running around with no clue why they're doing anything, its a miracle there aren't more concussions. The fact that you cant find or relate to quality women is indicative of your value and your social skills, not three billion people.
so you guys think those are backward rationalized reasons?
People generally act in a way that they think will benefit them or theirs. Most actions are taken under the assumption that they will benefit the subject in some way.
Some of them probably pumped up the story later, some didn't. Keep in mind these 'women' were chosen because their story was the 'best' out of a lot that fell into the same category, and were probably changed for reader-appeal.
Aren't you clever! You ignored the fact that I was being fecisous to make it look like I was saying something I didn't! Thank you for your valuable contribution to a serious discussion.
I forgot about that. You're right.
Does it matter how much the story was beefed up for dramatic purposes?
They cheated = faulty reasoning
If you don't understand why that is, then I'm sure other OTers will be along to tell you how you are a stupid woman with stupid woman logic.
^^ teh interweb r serrius business
Ha, well that was a little harsh. I should tone that down a bit.
Cheating is wrong, I am 100% behind that concept (assuming of course that you're in what both people think is a monogamous relationship). However, from the standpoint of the cheater (either sex) it can be seen as a good move, for a variety of reasons depending on the circumstance.
Anyway, my post is simply stating that the cheater may at the time THINK that what they are doing is in their best interest, not that it is. Hence it can be faulty reasoning. That doesn't mean it was unreasoned/random.
Stop feeding him
going along with this article, what would be a guys reason for cheating?
Can we have a free main forum now?
I actually think most cheating IS random. Not because people can't see it coming, but because they delude themselves into thinking they can play with fire and not get burned (so to speak).
"I saw her across the room and get an erection. Next thing I know I wake up in a dumpster in connecticut with garbage on my face, clutching a box of used condoms."
Hence its reasoned And not always faultily, lots of people get away with it.
They think they can get away with it (and often do) and probably that they will benefit from the interaction (validation, orgasm, revenge, experience, whatever)
Just because I can make something make sense in my head, doesn't make it any less faulty.
I can very much reason and deduce that all women are lying, cheating, whores in my head and I have plenty of "evidence" to back that notion up. That doesn't make my reasoning any less faulty.
theres one! now lets get 8 more.
i'm willing to be those 8 reasons could be almost identical to guys reasoning
Aren't you clever to not see that I was joking!
Okay, so for the serious response, I don't think this article represents females as a whole. The writers probably picked a couple women with wild stories and posted them because they grab reader's attention. More readers = more advertising money, you get it.
I know girls and guys who cheat and when I ask them why, I usually find that they are greatly selfish individuals who like to do whatever pleases them the most at that particular instant in time without giving thought to their actions' effects on others or their actions' long-term effects on themselves ... in addition to the danger/naughty/taboo aspect of "playing with fire".
I never said the reasoning wasn't sometimes faulty, just that it was reasoned.
If an individual want to have an affair, figures out how to do it without getting caught, and does, the individual has made a reasoned move which he/she believe he/she has benefited from
