I have a Mac (don't bother bashing, I love it) and am looking to get an mp3 player. I appreciate the iPods, but I'd like to investigate others. I've seen several others I like, but their specs make no mention of Mac compatability. Does anyone out there know of players that will interface with a Mac? Also, is there any difference in the iPod versus the iPod+HP units?

    Thanks.

stay away from sony. They never work with Mac OS. Apple and HP ipods are the same except for servicing.

Good luck. I don't think there are many competing products that even bother trying to compete with the iPods on their home turf (OS X).

iPod of your choosing + iTunes (Rip in Apple Lossless Format) + Airport Express connected to your home stereo = teh win :)

I know that iAudio's products work on OSX as well as Linux. However, no others are comming to my head right now.
