any recomendations for good, affordable (cheap) mp3 players? prefferably ones that use memory cards...if they dont use mem cards, at least 256mb of memory...

brand isnt important as long as its not junk.

its for a gift and i was just browsing thru ebay but way to many to weed through

    thanks-

iPod, they're the best players on the market.

Just make sure you have a FireWire port though, you might need to add a FW card to your cost.

Long run, the iPod will put up with plenty more abuse than any other player, so it will save you $$ over time.

Creative Nomads are good too though, but I've only used one once.

I own and recommend Sony's mp3 MD players.
They hold so many more songs than an mp3 player with memory stick.
But I cant argue with the iPod if ya got the $$$$.

i have the 30sh as well and love it. I helped pick up a yp55 for a friend and she absolutely loves it. Maybe she'll give it to me when she's bored of it :big grin:

ipods in my opinion suck. They are big and who needs like 10gigs and up for just music? Unless you put movies in it, you can't watch it on the ipod. If your going to give it to your friend or family then they have to install the software and upload everything. But they might not have a firewire port..so all in all, just stick with a normal mp3 player that suits your needs. I have a WeWa mp3 players i got for 300 with 256mb. Voice Recording. Radio. Big5 (www.wewa.com.hk) 313z
