I've just downloaded the Mozilla Thunderbird program, and how do i get it up and running, i installed it, and now i'm making my email address then this comes up

''Select the type of incoming server you are using?''

    POP or IMAP

''Enter the name for your incoming server?''

''Enter the name of your outgoing server?''

I don't know, can anyone help me out, where do i find this information?

what email service are you trying to add?

if its hotmail or yahoo, youll need an extension
if its gmail, search through the help on gmail
if its not a webmail, youll have to ask them

    More than likely POP3
You'll have to find out what the settings are for the server addresses you'll need for the POP3 address and SMTP address
They have an email address: contact[at]fmcentre.co.uk that you can use and ask if need be. I didn't find anything on there for support

shawmail is an internal address, though. From outside of Shaw's network, you can use mail.shawcable.com for both.

does mail.shawcable.com work internally? I know it won't for me. I just tried it.

I swore Shaw only allowed pop (shawmail) internally, and externally you had to use their webmail bullshit. At least that is what I've been told.

    Thank god for gmail.

Maybe mail.shawcable.com only works for business accounts :dunno: I don't have Shaw at home, just at work.
