Bought a new digicam Casio EX-Z1080 and it does video in .MOV format which is different from my 7MP EX-Z750 which was .AVI.

Movs play like shit and I've tried using three players. Its choppy and slow, and even when I use Nero Vision to code to DVD it comes out the same way.

Any advice on a good converter to .AVI or suggestions otherwise?

    Thanks in advance.

(Can't take the camera back to get the 8.1MP that stores in .AVI :wtc:)

If you have quicktime pro, you can export to .mp4. Is the 1080 in EX-Z1080 for 1080p/i? In other words, is it High Definition?

Most older machines are too slow/not powerful enough to play HD video.

What kind of machine are you working with?

Its 640x480 or in wide screen 848x480.

I don't have QTP right now, but will download and try that route.

I'm using a craptacular computer which needs upgrading. :(

I export them into AVI or MP4 and they don't show up at all.

Is my PC that shit that I could burn DVDs with the AVIs before I can't now with MOV?

I don't know for sure, but WinAmp might be able to recode them. Failing that, try using Windows Movie Maker to export them to 2.1Mb/s WMV files.

Maybe it's not the format but the camera.
    What players have your tried?

Plus you said the PC is crap, that might have something to do with it as well.
Try playing them on another PC.
