Im a dual citizen (US/Canada) In 02 I moved to Vancouver BC for school and to live. During that time I acquired 5 assorted firearms and its time to move back to the states and I want (must) bring them back with me because I absolutely love these guns. How hard is it to do? Has anyone one done it? I tired looking a little on the ATF site but its confusing as heck. Please someone give me some info/tips/whatever. Thanks!

since you have dual citizenship you might be able to import them, but it's unlikely. At worst, you can have the recievers cut, and just get new recievers when you get back home. Costly, but it's about the only guaranteed way.

Just curious but why wouldn't you be able to import? I was able to import my Desert Eagle into Canada when I moved there. I paid an importer (200) to do it. This time I'd just rather do it myself to save the money. I have the guns temporarily imported right now using a form6, its good for a year. But I just want to move them permanently. I guess I will just call the BATF

If its legal and importable here should be ok, but yeah I'm pretty sure the SIG will be a no go.. sell the upper and bring the lower back and get a 556 to throw the lower on.

I dont have a 550, my friend and fellow OTer Atomlowe has the 550. I really wanted to buy a 552 (Swissarms CQB) but maybe I will leave it registered in canada with a friends address and use the form6 to temp import it.

I have 5 guns in canada and 5 here.....

Pure... I don't want to hijack your thread, but I was wondering (this is for everyone): in your opinion, what's the nicest place to live in the USA in combination with lax/permissible firearm laws? I don't intend on spending all my life in this frozen hellhole. :)

If you want warm weather, Fl, Tx, Az, NM, Nv are all pretty decent. If you want to keep your winters, Montana, Idaho, and I think dakotas all have decent gun laws but you may die of boredom.

Yeah, warm weather is where it's at. I'd be looking at a single-family house, so which one has the cheapest real-estate? :x:

Texas is real cheap, Northern Fl isn't to badly priced, Fl no state income tax and pretty sure Tx is the same. Tx property tax is probably cheaper then Fl.

we're talking of getting rid of property tax as well, but it would come as a bump in sales tax.
