I recently finished putting buidling my surround sound system, and bought a new TV, so I wanted to try out a few movies that will make my house rumble and give me goosebumps. I recently bought Blade, and have since watched the club scene at the beginning three or four times. I also plan on getting the Matrix, Star Wars, maybe the Terminator series, and Jurassic Park for kicks. Any other suggestions?

When I first set up my surround system I played Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies.

Along with Saving Private Ryan (DTS if you have it), go with U-571.

I have Onkyo's bottom-end receiver; I'm not entirely positive, but I'm pretty sure it has DTS. I'm gonna check into that when I get home. I think I'm gonna check out U-571 and Saving Private Ryan next. Thanks guys.

    Thats a great one!

The scenes in the begining at the beach and at the end when they ambush the germans in that city.

Yup, Saving Private Ryan's gotta be it......Any real war movie would be pretty sweet though. Tears of the Sun, We Were Soldiers and Black Hawk Down too

ones that I always use are:
    Saving Private Ryan
    U-571
Daredevil (scene in hospital where he hears shit all around him)
    Moulin Rouge!
Any of the Lord of the Rings Films have a great mix.
Fight Club (Plane crash scene is good)

If you'd like something other than a movie, FleetwoodMac and the Eagles have great multi channel concert discs

    Terminator - Opening sequence
    Matrix - low frequencies
Any Pixar movie - biggest, most varied selection of effects/samples out there
Always - opening sequence for the panning of sound effects

Chronicles of Riddick....The Movie is awful but it's a very loud movie

  19. If you want something with more than just explosions, how about 5th Element

The Diva part would be something else...
