Hi, my name is Joe_Cool, and I'd like to see a re-release/remaster of 1971's Vanishing Point. I was originally thinking that a modern remake would be cool, but I know there's just too much that could be done wrong. I think the right director and cast could do it justice, but it's playing with fire.

I missed seeing it on the big screen by several years, and I missed really appreciating it on the big screen by about 18 years.

And it's time for a digial remaster and re-release.

What other movies - and I mean true classics, not stuff like Bambi and not stuff that's less than 10 years old.

If it came out in theaters again, I'd see it like, 5 times.

No way. To me, his greatness was Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles. And maybe even To Be Or Not To Be. But not Robin Hood.

from talking about getting him some heroin and being the rawest comedian i'd ever seen. To being my 6 year old nieces favorite "grown up" actor because of the haunted mansion and the doctor dolittle movies and daddy day care is funnier to me than pretty much anything.

are we talkin to the big screen on just on dvd?

The seattle times did a big article last year about a top ten list of dvds that need to be released and the chances it would be. The star wars trilogy was on there, so was king kong, from the 30s i believe. The one on the list that i liked was Disney's Song of the South (i.e. Brer Rabbit and the Tar Baby). Of course, chances are very unlikely that this will ever be rereleased due to the racial stereotypes that are reinforced in the film (e.g. happy slave). :hs:
