Hollywood is bitching that people don't go to the movies anymore. How do you see movies for the first time?

I cut down on going to movie theaters. So main way to see a movie for me is DL the DVDrip or rent DVD.

I rarely go to the theater any more. The commercials, the music, the prices, and all the inconsiderate assholes just ruin it for me far too often. I usually wait for cable.

I'd rather see it at home on DVD

I still like going to movies, but I find myself going to art houses more because the audiences are better behaved, the commercials are fewer, and some sell alcohol.

Too bad art houses don't have the money for stadium seating.

If it didnt cost 9-10 to go see a movie I would go a lot more. That is a bullshit price.

if it's bound to be an epic film or the visiuals are outstanding then i'll see it in the theatre. other than that...cable does wonders for me.

i try to go to the movies as often as my busy life will allow. sadly, i've only seen 2 movies in the theater this year. I can thank the fact that its hell trying to find a baby sitter. I also try to go to the matinee showings because there's usually less people there.

most of the time I go to the theater. If it's a movie were the screen/music is more important than the acting, I go for sure, if it'll go either way I can wait. I like my explosions big & loud :o

That is a good point but I can very rarely go to a Matinee. The good news is that they just opened a $2 theater near me for movies that have been out for a while. Not the best theater but it is cheaper than a rental.
