250g (1/2lb+) round or filet cow meat
pickles in vinager (no added sugar) .. cut a slice or 2 for the burger
    ciabatta bread 75g = 5x5x2" piece?
    diced purple onion
    diced garlic
    1 slice tomato
    jalepenos diced
    sambal olek sauce
lean cheese of your choice (goat or cow)

cook cow meat in pan with some vinager from pickle jar for about 10 min max
cut in hald and toast the ciabatta bread on another pan .. 30 sec a side
when steak is finishing throw the cheese on for 30 sec

stack with the rest and suc-fucking-cess!

    yield:
    60g+ protien
9g fat (3g from bread, 1.5 from cheese, 4.5 from meat)
    3g sat fat
    0g trans fat
    ~58g carb
cals 225 from bread, 278 from meat (i never count protien calories against me), 37 from the cheese, 20 from the other additions
    = 560 clean cals
and if you want a good fries substitute just eat the damn jar of pickles

cost of your burger = $50, 1 hour prep time

cost of BK burger = $7, 3 minutes in drive through

Not sure about that taking 1 hr to make but the best home made burger was simply grilled and with guacamole/onion/jalapenos/etc on it. Key is to find a great butcher. Omaha beef patties are decent.

Downing it with your favorite beer is nice as well.

all together this would cost 16$ US, and took 15 minutes to make... i guess you can justify an hour because you have to go to a store to get the stuff

by the way for a nice kick, prior to toasting the ciabatta, put some egg white over top and add sesame seeds

for me , i justify the extra cost that i dont have to work out extra (which cost time, because time = money) and knowing i ate healthy as possible .... while the bk counter part is around 900 cal and contains transfat

I'd just buy ground beef and roll up my own patties and stick cubes of pepper jack cheese in the middle. :dunno:

but then it is fatty and defeats the purpose for someone into fitness and nutrition =] ... for every 1g protein you would be eating 1g of fat

that why the sell lean ground beef? Plus burger w/o fat = suck. They fall apart and/or dry and not tender.

Its ONE MEAL!!! You're as bad as the folks that insist Muscle milk must be good only for bulking..
    And 1g fat/ 1g protien/ 1g carb would not be a 33/33/33 ratio... more like a 54/ 23/ 23 ratio.

Even if it's one or even an occasional two meals/day like that, I haven't gone over 12% bf.
