i dont like the mighty mouse. its the least ergonomic mouse ive ever used, tiring to use, and hurt my hand after extended periods of usage. i want to get a nice Logitech one (wired mice are fine too) that is comfortable. i had an MX700 and that one was nice, very ergonomic.

i actually wanted this one. but doesnt look like it supports OSX.

then i thought id get this one. but apparently the Logitech Control Center for the Mac SUCKS DONKEY BALLS!!

everyone reports crashes every half hour, etc etc. what are the alternatives for me?
    thanks

You should get the program USBoverdrive to manage your mouse settings and configs. It should work with any mouse.

I use Logitech V270 notebook mouse. The lag is there but you get used to it and best of all there is nothing to plug into your computer. Took less than a minute to configure. Every time it's on and in range the laptop automatically detects it and uses it.

Depending on the mouse, it may not be possible to configure what extra buttons beyond left and right click do if the software does not run on OS X. I have used Kensignton mice and there software is awesome and works on OS X.

there is a 3rd party app you can use that can control the buttons and such on your mouse but I don't remember what it is called. i just use the logitech software to customize the buttons but it works just fine as a mouse without it.
