I'm on AT&T and I have a Moto V60i, and it's good phone, just outdated. I want to upgrade, but stick with Motorola. A friend has the v400 on cingular and it's awesome, but AT&T only supports the v600, which is nearly $400 right now. Anyone have it? Is it worth it? I hear the only difference between the V400 and 600 is the bluetooth technology, which I don't want/need.

you could buy an unlocked V400 and throw your SIM card in it.

once you go bluetooth you never go back. with a contract renewal you can get the v600 for $299 and possibly even cheaper if the company you work for has a sponsorship. the v600 is worth it

Bluetooth is a wireless technology. It uses small cheap radio chips that will work up to 30 ft away. For cell phones they are mainly used for wireless headsets. If you have another bluetooth data device, ie palm, pc, mac, another cell phone, you can transfer data.. pictures, phone numbers, etc.

Wireless internet is something entirely different. Its just what it sounds like.. internet... that's wireless. On most phones you're limited to wap sites, but you still have a very large selection of things to browse. Pretty useful once you start using it. You say you don't want it and you'll never use it, but how many people said that about cell phones in general or the internet when they first started to catch on.

...and then there's wireless internet via bluetooth from another device.

i have my iPaq (pocket pc) and my laptop both configured to connect to my phone using bluetooth primarily for using my phone's internet service when i'm somewhere that doesn't have WiFi or wired internet access. with most phones, it would be too slow, but some of the newer GSM phones are EDGE compatible with faster data (depends on the phone, mine connects at up to 115k/sec).

My girlfriend's is pretty cool and I just ordered one. I wish it had a QWERTY keyboard built-in somewhere. I'm going to miss my "brick" phone.

I bought a V300 and loved the phone. I just actually flashed and flexed it to the v600 software and it runs smoother and faster then every :big grin: i'm very happy. I didn't want to shell out the extra money for the v600. But if I had the extra cash I definately would get that phone.
