anyone have any knowledge on how to find and transfer ringtones to this phone? I've got a bluetooth adapter on my laptop and this phone is BT. So, I wouldn't think it'd be too hard.

    Anyone have some hookups?

    Just a little update:
I just DL'd the Polyphonic Ringtone Software which lets you make you're own MMF files, but I'm not sure how to transfer them to my phone... Nor can I create them properly as of yet :big grin:.

    what's MPT?

There has to be a way to transfer MP3's to the phone as it has a slot for up to 256mb of memory. I know how to make the phone use an MP3 as a ringer (there was an MP3 on the phone when I bought it new).

ueber, tried what you recommended, but that failed as well. I get the message at my phone, but I am unable to download it.

Also, I went to www.vzwpix.com and tried to upload the .mid file. It's not a valid extension. It only allows .gif's, .jpg's, .html links.

    any other ideas?

Did you email it as an attachment? It should work if you did. When you get the message you will need to go to the options and save as a sound. I've sent myself several without problems. It works with wallpaper too if you format pictures to the correct size and then send them as an attachment.

ueber, I sent it as an attachment, but I'm not able to download ANY attachments to my phone. pics, sounds, etc... all won't DL. I'm almost sure it's an issue with my phone. Planning on calling verizon and waiting on hold until I figure this out

chris, that's a really cool thing for you to offer, but I'm sure they'd cost you some money.

Also, I GOT IT :). VZW didn't have a setting checked on my phone. Once they corrected that, I could DL the messages and they worked... most of them. Actually, about half of the .mid's didn't work. No worries, i'll just find another version and try again :)

so far, i've had 3 messages DL properly with a total of 8 functional songs. At 25 cents a message, that's 11 per ringer :). Nice work OT :)

i have a mot v710 as well and i use this site:

    http://www.funformobile.com/

one nice feature about the site is it allows me to pack multiple tones or multiple pictures in one pix message. i have a $5 for 50 msg pack. the cost of per tone for me is anywhere from 2 cents to 12.5 cents.

    hope this helps...
