I have a co-worker interested in this phone. The Verizon website says you can not use your mp3s as ring tones. Anyone know if the format just needs to be changed and the duration cut, to make it work? Or is he out of luck?

I don't think you can seem edit non GSM phones, atleast all the programs I've seen don't work with non-GSM phones. Look in the Verizion section on www.howardforums.com , then the motorola section of the verizion section, I thought there was something about unlocking the Krzr there to do it all.

It's possible on the RAZR so it can probably be done on the KRZR.

you can load mp3 ringers. i have the phone and i did it. go to the www.howardforums.com place, and youll find the info. basically, you download the motorola phone drivers, you download the p2k commander program, and you manually put them on the phone and it should pick it up. good luck.

    i have this phone btw.

How do you "manually put them on the phone" ?
Do you need a USB/miniUSB cable or do you use the SD card or what?

Or along with that, find a guy named PRP2 on howardforums.
He runs a WAP ringtone site that is quite excellent.
And yes you can do it on the KRZR.
One of my customers did it the same day i sold him his Fire KRZR
