So my brother in-law has a macbook and his motherboard has died.

He's only had it for 2 years and the retailer he spoke to said that because his year warrenty is up, there's nothing they can do, except for him to purchase a new computer or purchase a new mother board for like 870 something and then with labor and stuff, the cost is close to 1500!!!!!!

Is he screwed? Or is there anything he may be able to do?

(FWIW, my mbpro is still running after a year. :noes: )

You know that commerical where the PC guy guys in for repairs and upgrades?

Well, the mac guy would've been shot in the head and replaced with a new mac guy.

    He's sunk though.
