The fan on my abit ic7-g is malfunctioning.

The fan doesn't work right, and I may need to replace it.

How important is the mb fan? Can I go without it? :dunno:

    You mean the chipset fan?
What does "The fan doesn't work right" mean?
Only thing I can think of you may mean is that is is making noise. If that is the case, just pull the fan off the mobo, peel sticker off backside, drop one or two drops of oil in, replace sticker, re-mount fan. Should last for several months before you need to re-apply.

IC7's are known for the northbridge fan giving out, Personally, I'd replace it with a nice big passive NB cooler, but thats just me.
