Is the Intel dx58s0 motherboard and a i7-940 cpu any good ?
The CPU is good, but I've heard mixed reviews on the motherboard... I haven't tried one personally, but everything I've read has said performance isn't up to par compared to ASUS, Gigabyte, and the rest. For the Core I7 systems I've been configuring, I've been going with the ASUS P6T Deluxe board. So far, they've been rock solid and very quick.
^ I agree, the P6T Deluxe and a 920 will be my next purchase.
Why go for the 940 though? I would treat myself to a velociraptor hard drive with the cash saved by going for the 920, it overclocks well if you feel you gotta have max ghz.
i got both as a gift from someone
was just checking to see if they are any good
thnaks both of you for the info
Thats pretty generous
