ROBERT Ardito has regained a world record that packs a punch… well 805 of them to be exact.

‘My martial art punch strikes per second are now averaging approximately 13.5 punches a second for 60 seconds, but I know I can do even more. Wing Chun teaches you relaxation, skill and mind power, which can increase your speed reflex and force and how to overcome brute strength with minimal effort.’

    wtf?

I asked my instructor to teach us the straight blast, and I put on a helmet to take the hit, his fist bent the visor and i busted my lip open. If you hit someone with a flurry of those i figure it would just overwhelm them, most people cant even process one punch.

what the fuck. so is the objective of wing chung to overwhelm/disorient the other person with the sheer number of punches thrown?

One of my MMA friends put it best to someone inquiring about TMA's in real fighting.

"If you want to learn to punch, you ask a boxer. If you want to learn to kick, you ask a Kick boxer. These guys get paid to know what works best in a fight."

If those punches worked at all, we would have seen Tyson using them.

I would not go see a kick boxer to learn how to kick. If you want to learn how to kick, you go learn san shou or TKD or Kyokushin. Learning how to throw a telegraphing roundhouse is not learning how to kick.

Secondly, BJJ is a TMA. As is Muay Thai. So wtf are you talking about?

I think so. I've sparred a lot of chunners and they just try to literally beat you to the punch. I solved that by just kicking high at their hands and following with punches into whatever throw presents itself.

you mean if you want to learn how to foot slap someone you do TKD.

also the interpretation of a traditional martial art largely varies from person to person.
