Just curious as to who everyone here thinks is the most sought after tattoo
artist in the world?
depends for what.
when you get to the "best artists" they all specialize in different things. some do b&w portraits, some traditional japanese, some color etc.. it just depends.
in the US, probably paul booth. in the world, horiyoshi iii
Ami James, he has a cell phone with his designs on it
Booth is getting less and less popular as people realize his work doesn't stand the test of time. IMHO his over-rated and not as good as everyone makes him out to be.
art is subjective. there never truely is a best, as everyone has diffrent tastes.
i really dont keep up with him. im over him.
Brandon Bond and Anil Gupta I'd say are pretty popular
bond for sure in terms of new school tattoo artists- as well as .. god damnit I have space town in my head today...he is in cali, has a heavy hand, fuck I'm gay.
anyone else have contributions? i don't really keep up with too many current artists anymore. just faithfully following the ones i have been for years.
i saw this guy at the austin tattoo convention:
i remember being in LA awhile back and I visited several well known shops and all these established artists were in an uproar that he was in town. pretty good stuff. i'd imagine everyone will being seeing ALOT more of him soon.
Holy shit that Baxter guy's stuff is insane
yeah, he's really young too...like 21 or so!!! i think he was featured in tattoo the magazine once when he was 19-20. he's visibly gotten better. can you imagine him with 10-15 years of tattooing under his belt?
his portfolio at the convention was like
Fuck yeah - that baxter guy does some crazy work! frikin sweet.
don't post my own tattoos please
