Most effective time to take Creatine?

    pre-workout.. post.. during...?? :dunno:

    I got some crap mix from the vitamin shoppe, with 6gCM, 2g glutamine and, 2g taurine.. I've been taking it post workout for the Glut and it seems to have helped speed up recovery a bit, but I wanna know if I'm actually putting the Creatine mono to use a that point.

    I like to take some before and after my workout.

    BTW, when you run out, get some CEE instead.

    is their anything I should mix bulk cee with, like you have to for bulk mono.

    ^^ mix with OJ to kill the warhead-like flavour of the CEE, but no, you don't need to mix it with anything. 2.5g of CEE with a little water, and gulp it down.

    3g pre and 3g post

    I am 215lbs though and have pretty decent amount of muscle mass... If you weigh less and are just starting out you probably want to take less.

    I have taken mine mixed with gatorade during my workout after reading the sugar causes a bit of an insulin spike causing your body to more effectively absorb the creatine. This could be total bullshit however :dunno:

    Apparently acidic juices will nutralize the benefits of Creatine.

    CEE HCl has a totally different structure than monohydrate. It remains stable in citric acid.

    Interesting thing is many people made gains from creatine monohydrate with grapejuice when creatine first came out.

    I mix my mono with grapefruit juice.. it's the only think that keeps it from tasting like rusted old pennies.

    The article was last updated in 1996. Not to mention the part you quoted is poorly worded and doesn't really tell me anything.

    I also don't see any studies referencing digestion or the effects of juice/citric acid on creatine absorption in the stomach.

    True, but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with its validity.

    Either way, it may be worth thinking about.



    Or, just take CEE.:p
