I just bought one. Am I going to be disappointed with the power, compared to a 12ga? Any of you know if it's a single shot or not? I bought it for $150, it really good condition, hope I got a deal... Anyone have first hand experience with one?

    :ugh: :ugh: :ugh: :ugh:

If you can't tell, you shouldn't own a firearm.

But anyway, if it's a 500, it's a pump, and therefore it holds 6 shells.

Well, first of all, I don't have the gun in my possession yet. I've never fired anything other than a BB/pellet gun. I just recently found specs on it tonight, to learn that the 3" holds a total of 5 shells at a time. Thanks for your...um...help.

Depends. What are you going to do with it? Hunt duck, deer or small game? Skeet shoot? Home protection? Blow random shit up?

well good luck with a 20ga pump for skeet. maybe for trap you will be ok, but it takes skill to use a pump for skeet, let alone a 20ga

I use a 12 guage pump for skeet and have never had a problem :dunno:

But yea, 20 guage would be kind of a bitch.

we have a major skeet scene at my club, and there is only a handful of people that can take the double birds with a pump gun. Usually they nail all their #1 birds, but lose the #2 because they take too much time to pump and regain bead. Ive tried it once, not worth it, id rather have a gas-auto or a O/U any day.

EDIT: Not to insult your knowledge of clay sports, but maybe you are using a pump for trap instead of skeet....just a thought.

I didn't realize there was a difference :hs: but after reading up on it, what I've apparently been doing is shooting trap, which from what I've read is a hell of alot easier to do with a pump than shooting skeet sounds like it would be.

I think, basically, he was inferring that you should have at least obtained the basic knowledge about the gun before purchasing it ...
