This was posted on my local gun board. Am I missing something, or is this guy just a douche canoe? Best I can tell, he assumes that since he bought a $75 gun but spent several hours working on it, it's now worth $400

I dunno, it comes with 18 rounds of winchester soft point ammo, and judging by new ammo prices these days, they might be worth $18 each.

I would say with the ammo and other stuff it's worth $175. I don't know where the other $300 is coming from though.

Funny thing is I actually bought a pistol earlier this year from that guy who was complaining when I asked about the price.

$200 for a mint NRA special edition Ruger MKII :)

He might get that if he holds out another 475 years. A non-numbers matching gun isnt going to be worth shit in the collecters market. And plain old mosins are probably never going to top the $200 mark in my lifetime. Probably wont even get close.

On M44s, they usually are to compensate with the barrel being heavily weighted on one side from the bayonet.

Update: Apparently the ammo is now sold. Waiting to see what he changes his price too. $400 seems about fair, don't you think :jerkit:

    That's fucking retarded.

I cleaned mine up, including taking apart literally EVERYTHING and cleaning it, and I have 440 rounds of ammo sitting here, WITH stripper clips, and the original equipment (complete sling, oiler, all cleaning rod parts, and firing pin adjuster tool), plus a muzzle brake and EER scope & mount to go on it.. who wants to give me $600 for it!??!! :x:
