Mosin Crew: Trigger sometimes won't reset on my M44.

I was shooting with a friend yesterday out in Colfax and he pulled the trigger but the gun didn't fire. He handed it to me to check out and when I pulled the bolt back it just slid right out. After a few times of working the bolt the trigger reset but I didn't want to shoot it anymore after that. Lately when ejecting rounds a small circular piece of metal has been coming out with the brass every once in a while and I figured it was something coming off of the ammo and just ignored it. Any clue as to what's happening and how I can fix it?

Not having personally taken a MN apart....

I hear there really isn't much to them inside. Take it apart and see if you notice something that is obviously wrong. I've had milsurps fail to reset after cycling because the gun is filthy inside.

I posted it on another forum and it was the trigger spring something, all I had to do was tighten a screw 1/8 turn and that was it. Taking apart a Mosin is a lot easier than I thought, it was quite a relief.

If it jams... fuck it, throw it away and go to your sidearm.
